About

Alan is a consultant, coach, and facilitator with more than 40 years of experience helping organizations and individuals understand themselves, their teams, and their impact on each other so as to break down the barriers and assumptions which separate people and cause dysfunction. As an older straight, White man, he is able to hold a mirror to people in a way that allows them to see themselves in a new light.

Alan uses proven processes to analyze and synthesize qualitative and quantitative data to diagnose and evaluate organizational conditions to generate measurable, results-oriented recommendations for improve human development, communications, and cross-cultural programs, practices, and processes. His passion is developing strategic, tactical, and implementation plans for workforce and workplace program, practice, and process effectiveness consistent with an organization’s mission and within their capacity for implementation.

Alan has served NTL as Executive Director, Board member, Core Labs Steward, and HI Lab dean and staff. He co-created NTL's Teaming in Cyberspace in the 1990's. 

Alan earned a M.Ed. in experiential education at West Virginia University and earned a BA in Social Science and Psychology from the University of Michigan. He is a master-certified administrator of the Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), Thomas Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument, Emotional Intelligence (EQ-i 2.0) assessment, and many others.
